The Project Specialist III - Nursing provides advanced project management support for the OB Emergency Simulation project to help deliver hands-on training to interdisciplinary teams in hospitals without OB services. Supports staff training, promotes team-based care, and reinforces best practices in obstetric emergency response.

Required Licenses and Certifications
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s prepared registered nurse with focus in nursing education
Three years of related clinical experience in maternal health
Three years of related experience with clinical simulation
Experience in curriculum development or educational program planning
Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator with maternal child experience
Electronic Fetal Monitoring (NCC or AWHONN)
RNC-OB certified
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Knowledge of evidence-based maternal care practices (prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care).
Experience managing OB maternal child emergencies
Strong Interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to manage Zoom and Microsoft Teams platforms for meetings.
Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare-related software.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software.
Responsibilities
Program and Project Management
Coordinates OB Emergency Simulation activities, collaborates with project team members, develops measurable project goals and objectives, and monitors progress toward achievement
Co-facilitator during simulation education sessions, provides hands-on guidance and feedback to ED staff, including nurses, midwives, and physicians
Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates the OB Emergency Simulation project
Utilize simulation equipment and tools effectively to create realistic and educational scenarios, fostering a safe learning environment for participants
Provide clinical insight based on L&D experience to enhance realism and learning outcomes
Assist with setup and breakdown of simulation equipment (including OB manikins)
Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing maternal health outcomes including data collection, analysis, and reporting
Travel to rural hospitals for in-person sessions
May develop project budgets and prepare contracts as needed
Team Collaboration and Support
Provide mentorship and support to rural healthcare providers, offering guidance on best practices and up-to-date obstetric care techniques
Collaborates with clinical experts and simulation faculty to deliver program content
Supports debriefings and clinical education discussions post-simulation.
Contributes to research activities related to telehealth and obstetric simulation, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to advance maternal health knowledge
Provides recommendations to achieve goals
Documentation and Communications
Contributes to the development of educational materials, including manuals, guides, and online resources, to support ongoing learning and skill development in rural emergency departments
Prepares agendas for meetings, documents key decisions, and collaborates with team members to develop project collateral
Develops and disseminates work plans and project documents to include procedures, proposals, progress reports, and presentations
Performs other duties as assigned
Professional Development and Licensure
Engages in continuous professional development by attending relevant conferences, workshops, and training sessions to stay current on maternal health best practices and telehealth innovations
Maintains active licensure and certification as a Registered Nurse and pursues additional certifications as necessary to enhance role competency
