About The Role
Nbryo is seeking a Field Embryologist (with a background in embryology or reproductive sciences) to join our production team who are responsible for delivering high quality bovine embryo production services from the Field to our IVF laboratory. The role also involves working with research teams to commercialise technologies from pre-commercialisation activities and phases.
We have a scale-up mindset that is fast-paced, and you will work across the business to manage and maintain quality outcomes to meet the company’s vision and strategy.
Reporting to our Operations Manager, you will deliver high quality embryo production services via the Nbryo technology platform and collaborate with a talented team to produce high quality results to our diverse customer base. The role requires frequent travel across regional and rural Australia[SE1] and would be ideal for someone wanting to further develop their embryology skills.
You will be accountable for:
- Working alongside OPU technicians on farm to acquire oocytes from the field to deliver to the IVF laboratory.
- Performing on farm search and classification of oocytes and complete accurate data recording during the Ovum Pick Up process
- Level 1 laboratory tasks associated with production of In vitro produced (IVP) embryos
- Receival, processing, storage & data management of genetic material
- Thawing & loading of vitrified embryos for embryo transfer
- Compliance, continuous improvement and effective execution of our Quality Management Systems
- Assistance with inventory management
- Actively contribute to positive customer relations and a safety-first workplace.
This is a field role, based in Freeway Office Park, Eight Mile Plains.
Selection Criteria
Knowledge:
· In vitro production of embryos, preferably bovine
· Understanding of IETS guidelines and standards
· QMS execution.
Skills:
· Selection and classification of oocytes after ovum pick-up (OPU)
· Thawing and assessment of vitrified embryos in field for transfer
· Handing of genetic material (semen and embryos)
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, project management tools, and data analysis software.
Experience:
· Commercial IVP embryo production in either livestock or human industries
· Research collaboration and/or execution of research activities
· Laboratory and inventory management.
Qualifications:
· Degree qualified in the areas of veterinary, animal, embryology or reproductive sciences (highly desirable) with experience sufficient to fulfil the role.
