In-depth knowledge of using ultrasound equipment including software programs and technical maintenance with an ability to trouble shooting equipment problems with physicians, clinical team, and on-line support team. Basic computer, voicemail, telephone, calculator, faxes, etc.
Essential Functions
- Performs duties consistent with a medical sonographer, providing effective, exceptional customer service.
- Operates ultrasound equipment to produce and record images selecting the appropriate settings.
- Performs imaging studies consistent with physician’s orders and according to protocols.
- Observes and care’s for patients throughout the study to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Provides written and oral information to the physicians and clinical support team.
- Troubleshoots equipment problems making recommendations to the Physicians and Practice Administrator as needed. Act’s as a resource to remote office.
- Manages phone calls by taking and routing messages appropriately and providing assistance/information to patients/customers.
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate materials and attending continuing education classes.
- Provides input into the development and implementation of individual, department, and organizational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS And/or REQUIREMENTS
- Working knowledge of ultrasound equipment and computers and their application required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Successful completion of competency based orientation program.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Effective organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of basic medical office operations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Registered ARDMS sonographer with a license in obstetric and gynecology required.
Desired Requirements (Preferred)
- 5 years sonographer experience in a medical office or hospital.
