About CARLOS SIMÓN FOUNDATION FOR RESEARCH IN WOMEN’S HEALTH
At Carlos Simon Foundation, we are offering an outstanding Predoctoral position in our research laboratory, based in Paterna, Valencia (Spain). The applicant will join a research team that is committed to investigating innovative methods to shift the diagnostic and therapeutic focus towards a precise and early preoperative assessment of gynecological tumors.
We are looking for a candidate to carry out his/her doctoral thesis in the Reproductive Medicine Research Group of IIS INCLIVA, specifically associated with the research line on gynecological tumours led by Dr. Aymara Mas. The successful candidate will be eligible to apply for a PFIS pre-doctoral fellowship from the Instituto de Salud Carlos III.
The Carlos Simon Foundation for Women's Research is a non-profit organization founded and directed by Professor Carlos Simón, professor at the University of Valencia and renowned clinical researcher in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.
We are a multidisciplinary team made up of more than 50 professionals. We work to create a world in which women's health pathologies that affect the uterus are no longer a barrier to their quality of life and reproductive desire. Our main activity is biomedical research in the field of reproductive medicine and women's health, and the development of other initiatives and actions aimed at improving our knowledge in the field and its application.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Performs research tasks in a specific and novel project.
- Analyses results, draws up conclusions in collaboration with the Postdoctoral Researcher and Principal Investigator.
- Write the doctoral thesis and publish the results.
- Undertakes a 3 to 6 month stay in an international reference laboratory.
- Participates in the weekly scientific meetings of the entity.
- Contributes to the preparation of manuscripts, the design and execution of laboratory experiments and data analysis.
- Maintains laboratory equipment.
- Keeps his/her own knowledge up to date and learns from members of the senior team, as well as proposes and carries out appropriate training courses for his/her professional development.
- Collaborates in a multidisciplinary environment with leading clinicians, scientific experts in different areas, data analysts, statisticians and IT professionals.
Required skills and experience
- Graduate in Health Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Medicine, or similar).
- To have completed an Official master’s degree that gives access to a PhD programme.
- To accredit an average academic record equal to or higher than 8.
- Preferably accredit curricular merits such as participation in research projects, congresses and publications, or other merits such as stays in national or international R&D centres.
- Have an advanced level of English (B2 or higher).
- Enjoy working as part of a team in a young and dynamic environment.
- Have a great interest and vocation for science.
