As a leader within the Sample Reception Department, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring consistent workflow, maintaining quality standards, and guiding staff performance to support exceptional patient care.
The ideal candidate will manage accurate receipt, sorting, and accessioning of specimens submitted for laboratory analysis. This role encompasses oversight of technical procedures, personnel management, quality control, and administrative functions to ensure timely and high-quality specimen processing, data entry, test ordering, and workload distribution within the sample reception departments in the US and Canada.
You will lead and coordinate departmental activities to streamline accessioning operations, ensuring efficient specimen handling while upholding rigorous quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and oversight for clinical laboratory sample reception operations across multiple shifts.
- Ensure the accurate, efficient, and timely reception of specimens.
- Oversee and maintain quality control and quality assurance programs regarding accessioning.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate sample reception team to ensure high performance and compliance with standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support optimal patient care and laboratory integration.
- Prepare for inspections and audits conducted by regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.
Education & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisor experience in a clinical laboratory environment.
- In-depth knowledge of laboratory regulations and standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP).
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish

- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays, as needed.
- Required to sit for prolonged periods, walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
