Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to work alongside an Obstetrician/Gynecologist in Woodstock, ON. The duties of this position include, but is not limited to: general reception tasks, assisting in examinations, cleaning instruments, booking appointments, and billing. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional administrative support while maintaining a welcoming environment for patients. This position requires proficiency in handling electronic medical records and familiarity with medical terminology, as well as experience in a dental or medical office setting.

Start Date: August 28, 2025
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 25-30 hours/week
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression of the office.
- Manage front desk operations, including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and handling inquiries.
- Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) accurately using Accuro
- Measure and input patients' blood pressures and weights
- Coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers to facilitate efficient care delivery.
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry and maintaining office supplies.
- Understand and utilize medical terminology to assist with patient interactions and documentation.
- Cleaning and sterilizing instruments.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dental or medical office for at least 1 year is required
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems; familiarity with Accuro is a plus.
- Strong administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to communicate professionally.
- Knowledge of medical terminology to enhance patient interactions and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to operate phone systems efficiently and handle patient inquiries professionally.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma in Medical Office Administration is a benefit, but not a necessity
- Must be able to work independently in a busy environment with multiple competing priorities.
- Capable of meeting physical demands required (lots of hallway walking)
