Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking Staff Nurse for the department of OB/ GYN at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The Staff Nurse in collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team, oversees, coordinates and provides focused, episodic care to Clinical Operations patients. This care encompasses health promotion, health maintenance, or management of health-related problems that is delivered in face-to-face or telephone encounters. Additional Responsibilities includes: delegation, direction and supervision of the activities of Clinical Operations LPN’s and non-nursing clinical staff to meet the needs of Clinical Operations patients. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Greets the patient in a friendly, forthright manner, making sure to always maintain eye contact and a strong smile. Answers the telephone with a pleasant demeanor, always identifying self, and location. Utilizes the nursing process to systematically assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document a plan of care individualized for patient, group, or population in face-to-face and telephone encounters. Engages in ongoing performance improvement activities to enhance the quality and effectiveness of one’s clinical and professional nursing practice, and that of the Clinical Operations organizational system. Arranges for prenatal patient follow-up whenever necessary and administration of fetal monitoring with appropriate assessment and intervention if indicated. Administers medications and phlebotomy services and collects laboratory test results.

Preferred Qualifications
BSN and three to five (3-5) years of experience “highly desired”. Acute inpatient experience of one (1) year or more preferred. At least one (1) year of experience with electronic medical records preferred.
