We are seeking a friendly, experienced OR Technician to work in our Bryn Mawr clinic.Β
Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm Tuesday-Saturday, with holiday rotation.
π₯ Core Clinical Responsibilities
1. Pre-Procedure Preparation
o Set up sterile trays and surgical instruments for egg retrievals.
o Ensure all necessary equipment (e.g., aspiration needles, ultrasound probes, culture media) is available and functioning.
o Assist in patient positioning and prepping the procedure room.
2. Intraoperative Support
o Assist the physician during egg retrievals by handing instruments, managing suction, and maintaining a sterile field.
o Monitor and adjust equipment as needed during the procedure.
o Ensure proper labeling and transfer of follicular fluid to the embryology lab.
2. Post-Procedure Duties
o Clean and sterilize instruments and OR space.
o Dispose of biohazard materials according to protocol.
o Document procedure details and equipment usage.
π¦ Supply Chain & Inventory Management
1. Ordering Supplies
o Monitor inventory levels of surgical and lab supplies (e.g., catheters, syringes, gowns, culture media).
o Place orders with vendors based on usage trends and upcoming procedures.
o Track backorders and ensure timely restocking.
2. Managing Supply Outdates
o Regularly check expiration dates on all sterile and non-sterile supplies.
o Rotate stock to use older items first (FIFO: First In, First Out).
o Dispose of expired items according to clinic policy and document appropriately.
2. Vendor Coordination
o Communicate with suppliers for delivery schedules, and product recalls.
o Maintain records of purchase orders and invoices.
π§Ύ Administrative & Compliance Tasks
β’ Maintain accurate logs of sterilization cycles and equipment maintenance.
β’ Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.
β’ Participate in audits and quality assurance reviews.
Education and/or Experience:
Β· High School Diploma or equivalent; college preferred
Β· Two (2) years of operating room experience required.
Β· Graduate of approved Operating Room Technical School preferred.
