The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technologist to join our dynamic laboratory team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory and will bring a deep commitment to patient care, technical excellence, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

Perform laboratory tests and diagnostics on biological samples
Prepare and process specimens for laboratory analysis
Participate in equipment maintenance, quality control, and quality assurance procedures (daily, weekly, monthly logs).
Maintains equipment and responds to any maintenance requirements to ensure optimal functionality
Maintain lab cleanliness and manage inventory and supplies at acceptable levels for all laboratory areas
Organizes and maintains accurate records, including test reports and all andrology procedures, documented in EMR and patient records.
Ensure strict adherence to lab protocols
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards

What We're Looking For

BSc in biology, biological sciences or related field
Proven experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
Strong phlebotomy skills with attention to detail in sample collection.
Strong understanding of quality systems and regulatory compliance
Exceptional critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Schedule & Work Environment

Full-time position based in Calgary, Alberta
Participation in weekend and holiday rotations is required
