We're seeking a Clinic Receptionist to join our team of compassionate caregivers. Our 25-bed critical access hospital allows our compassionate caregivers to provide excellent patient care in an environment that supports them in their professional growth and development with the latest technologies. Cibola General Hospital is one hour from Albuquerque and close to Santa Fe. Known for its mild year-round climate and outdoor activities, Grants NM offers low property taxes and inexpensive housing costs.
Cibola General Hospital provides services in general surgery, 24-hour Emergency care, Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics, Pathology, Pediatric Dentistry, Podiatry, Primary Care and Radiology with X-ray, CT, MRI. We have three operating rooms including a room for scopes. Clinics, Lab services, Pharmacy, Cardiopulmonary, and Rehab, and skilled care beds are provided.
Job Summary:
The receptionist is responsible for phone calls and scheduling appointments for patients, receiving patient payments insurance verification, and posting of daily charges and day end procedures. This position will also cover for the medical assistant(s) when we are short an assistant for a scheduled work day.
Reports To: Front Office Manager
Principal Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming phone calls and take messages when necessary.
- Schedule appointments for our office and assist with referral appointments.
- Prepare charts for new patients and obtain all the necessary demographic information and update demographics per office policy.
- Post schedules for providers and advise them of changes.
- Prepare referrals and send or fax to appropriate office.
- Run insurance verification for all patients with insurance for each appointment.
- Follow all notes provided by Billing Clerk on patient accounts.
- Filing of all patient records.
- Prepare work releases and school excuses within privacy rules.
- Receive and post patient payments
- Receive and post insurance payments
- Prepare and turn in daily deposits
- Post daily charges.
- Process day end reports.
- Medical Assisting duties when necessary.
- Follow the Code of Conduct and Office Policies and Procedures.
Education/Licensure Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proficient in the use of a computer and other office equipment ( fax, calculator, copier etc)
- Proficient in reading medical records and billing information
- Strong verbal and writing skills
- Good interpersonal ability
- Knowledge of Cooperate Compliance and Privacy Laws
Conditions of Employment:
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, reference checks and a post-offer drug screen.
- Must be employment eligible as verified by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Government Services Administration (GSA).
