Excellent opportunities exist for experienced and passionate Registered Midwives to join a growing team, working across the Antenatal and Postnatal wards, in the Maternity Assessment Unit, Caesarean lists, Birthing Suites or with the adorable little babies in the Special Care Nursery at a private hospital in Newcastle. There is full-time, part-time and casual work available.
ABOUT THE ROLE You will have the opportunity to work on the antenatal ward, in the Maternity Assessment unit, the Birthing Suites, the Postnatal ward, the Cesarean lists and/or in the beautifully renovated Special Care Nursery.
To succeed in the role as a Registered Midwife, you will need to bring a genuine interest in caring for women and their families through the various stages of pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal care. You will be an experienced midwife with excellent communication skills and enjoy working in an inclusive and vibrant environment that values and supports our diverse families.
REQUIREMENTS - Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife;
- Current NSW Working with Children Check;
- Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience working as a Registered Midwife in similar roles;
- Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised woman-centred care;
- Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations;
- Excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Flexibility to work a seven-day roster including night duty;
- Basic computer skills.

REMUNERATION $35.46 - $49.79 per hour.
ABOUT THE FACILITY The hospital, located in Newcastle, is an 189-bed, acute, private facility with 11 theatres, including a hybrid theatre and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit. The Maternity Unit comprises a Birthing Suite, Maternity Ward, and Special Care Nursery. Birthing Suite has 6 rooms on the ground floor, with Croudace Operating Theatres adjacent. The Maternity Ward encompasses 38 beds combined with antenatal and postnatal rooms.
