Overview
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Medical Biller to join our gynecology practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patient billing, processing insurance claims, and ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for services provided. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies for gynecological services.
- Review and verify patient information, including insurance coverage and eligibility.
- Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10, ICD-9, to ensure accurate billing.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing issues with insurance companies.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation for all billing activities.
- Work with our in-house Coder to process claims.
- Generate and send patient statements and invoices.
- Assist patients with billing inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any billing discrepancies or issues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including HIPPA.
- Collaborate with office manager and medical staff to streamline billing processes.
Requirements
- Certification (CPC or CMRS) in medical billing is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of various coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9).
- Experience working in a medical office environment with knowledge of medical records systems.
- Familiarity with medical billing processes, including claims submission and collections.
- Knowledge of women's health codes and modifiers (colposcopy, IUD, LEEP, annual exams).
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- 2 years' experience in medical billing or coding is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $22.01 - $26.50 per hour
