An exciting opportunity has arisen at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, applications are invited for a fixed term post ST3 + level for the post of Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to commence as soon as possible at Basildon Hospital.
Situated in the South East of England, Basildon Hospital is ideally placed offering easy access to the Channel Tunnel, London and the national motorway network via M25.
The Trust has an ongoing commitment to first class service delivery, innovative long-term initiatives and has University Hospital Teaching Status with University College London.
You will take part in the general functioning of the Directorate which will include attendance at the various clinics within the hospital, labour ward, ward rounds and operating sessions.
There will also be support to develop a special interest which could be EPAU management, Colposcopy, Sub Fertility, Maternity Assessment management/Obstetric Ultrasound, Urogyneacology and Minimal access surgery.
This Department is committed to support the successful candidate to the Specialist Registrar through article 14 and support the completion of relevant ATSM's.

ST3 level doctor will be expected to gain the necessary competencies by rotating through the region in order to gain the relevant experience
Liaise between Midwives, nurses, other junior doctors, patients, relatives and senior medical staff
Attend to the day to day management of day case, out-patient and in-patients
Attend and participate in ward rounds and operating theatre sessions as timetabled
Attend general and specialist out-patient, diagnostic and pre-assessment clinics
Teach medical students as directed
Supervise, monitor and assist the F2 doctors & ST1-2 in post take ward rounds as part of the rostered emergency work
To keep up-to date with all administrative duties including letters, results and discharge summaries as required
Study for higher examinations and maintain continued professional development
Undertake and assist in audit projects at various times throughout the rotations
Attend weekly educational and multidisciplinary sessions

Doctors will work a rolling 16 week rota comprises of 1 in 4 weekend plus 1 week of nights (ward/clinic/theatre sessions)
Banding: 1A 50%
