Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to expectant mothers during labor and delivery, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for both the mother and the newborn. This role requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
Duties
- Monitor and assess the health status of mothers and infants during labor and delivery.

Administer medications and injections as prescribed, ensuring patient safety.

Provide education and support to families regarding infant care, family planning, and postpartum recovery.

Assist with emergency procedures as necessary, demonstrating acute care skills.

Conduct assessments related to anatomy knowledge for both mother and infant.

Manage tube feeding for infants when required.

Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare staff to develop individualized care plans.

Utilize Epic or similar electronic health record systems for documentation and patient management.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in the labor and delivery unit.
Requirements
- Valid nursing license in the state of practice.

Minimum 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing preferred; outpatient or emergency room experience is a plus.

Proficient in administering injections and managing acute care situations.

Strong knowledge of infant care practices.

Familiarity with tube feeding protocols is desirable.

Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
