Job Description:
The Medical Scribe plays a vital role in supporting Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) providers by accurately documenting patient encounters in real-time. Working closely with physicians and other clinical staff, the scribe ensures thorough and timely completion of electronic medical records (EMRs) to optimize clinic flow and provider efficiency. This position requires a strong understanding of obstetric and maternal-fetal medical terminology, attention to detail, and the ability to always maintain patient confidentiality. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume specialty environment. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-past environment while providing excellent care for our patients.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Accurately document patient histories, exam findings, assessments, ultrasounds, and care plans during provider-patient interactions.
- Prepare and maintain thorough, up-to-date charts in the EMR, including HPI, ROS, A&P, and procedure notes.
- Ensure documentation is clear, concise, and completed in real time or shortly after the visit.
- Assist providers in pre-visit preparation by reviewing prior records, labs, imaging, and maternal histories.
- Coordinate with ultrasound techs and nursing staff to capture complete clinical information during diagnostic or procedural visits.
- Maintain awareness of high-risk pregnancy indicators and terminology used in perinatology care.
- Ensure all records are submitted for provider review and signature promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies.

Education /Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associates degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years required, with OB/GYN preferred
- Experience with EMR system, Athena knowledge a plus

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
