The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for accurately performing all advanced and basic pharmacy technician functions in a timely manner. In addition, they may be responsible for performing duties associated with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) and other specialized duties as assigned by the pharmacy management team.
Duties include but not limited to:
Prepares all work records needed for day at their designated times including the Discontinued, Transfers, and Discharges Lists of parenteral preparations and efficiently processes these reports before they are dispensed to the patient care areas
Performing daily ADC routines as assigned (i.e. restocks, outdates, discrepancy resolution, loading and unloading, etc.)
Troubleshoots ADC issues. (i.e. orders not coming across, drawer failures, medication jams, communication failures, etc.)
IV Certification in sterile compounding by an ACPE accredited provider (minimum of 40 hours) required. The employee is required to obtain certification within 90 days of hiring, if he or she is not certified.
Current Registered pharmacy technician in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
Demonstrate some relevant theoretical knowledge
Apply known solutions to a variety of predictable problems
Applies and performs processes that require a range of well-developed skills where some discretion and judgment is required
Interpret available information using discretion and judgment.
Take responsibility for own outputs in work and learning

Understands that failure to follow established SOP’s for hazardous drugs could potentially lead to risk of adverse effects which may include but not limited to skin rashes, reproductive effects, chronic effects, and cancer
