Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Back Office Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
- Perform coding for billing purposes and ensure proper documentation for insurance claims.
- Collaborate with other healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for procedures.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care as directed by providers.
- Adhere to safety protocols within the hospital or clinical setting, particularly in high-acuity areas such as Level I Trauma Centers or PICUs.
Skills
- Proficient in medical coding systems and electronic health records (EHR).
- Knowledge of human physiology and anatomy relevant to various specialties.
- Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols and geriatric care practices.
- Ability to perform vital sign assessments accurately.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments, particularly in trauma or emergency settings.
