The Clerical Team Leader provides team leader responsibilities for the clinic. This position ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation standards and Adena Health System policies and procedures. The incumbent provides direction to clerical staff and participates in the workload as needed. The incumbent may also provide direction to clinical staff in non-clinical functions. Decisions are made independently and/or in collaboration with the Manager, Clinic Staff and Operations and/or Director. This position has access to confidential information and functions under the direction of the Manager, Clinic Staff and Operations and/or Director.
Required Educational Degree:
High School Diploma or GED with 2 years experience as a Department Coordinator OR Associate Degree in an Allied Health field or Business Administration
Required Experience:
1-2 years relevant work experience in an office setting. Relevant experience would include medical office experience, cash posting, billing, coding, and/or insurance experience.
Job Essential Functions:
- Oversees the education of the physicians and staff on the orthopedic bracing and supply program and acts as a resource for product options. Provides education and instruction to providers and other medical staff in the use of equipment and any special applications.
- Utilizes and helps to manage Adena Health System vision, mission and values as applicable to support daily operation.
- Establishes and monitors inventory par levels at assigned site(s). Responsible for the introduction of new products into inventory. Tracks all DMEPOS dispensed on a daily basis including costs. Develops and analyzes inventory reports. Creates purchase orders and maintains inventory accuracy for the assigned site(s).
- In coordination with the billing office, obtains pre-authorization for Worker's Compensation patients and any other commercial payers as needed. Collects patient co-insurances, deductibles and cash pays as applicable.
- Coordinates with the appropriate departments to gather and maintain tracking data on all claim denials and claims requiring further information.
- Provides outstanding patient service and follow up in accordance with Adena policies, procedures and management expectations.
- Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management review. Analyzes reports for data for trends and patterns. Suggests areas for improvement including processes and procedure.
