We are expanding our offerings and seeking a licensed mental health clinician who aligns with our mind-body approach to support clients navigating emotional, psychological, and nervous system challenges related to motherhood. Especially prefer someone with background in trauma-informed work, reproductive grief and loss, or women’s issues.
Please note this is a new business and the demand for psychotherapy services is still unknown. This contract is ideal for a psychologist already seeing clients in private practice and looking for another referral source.
Role Overview
We are looking for a compassionate, trauma-informed Licensed Psychologist to provide therapeutic support and integrative care to clients in our coaching and educational programs. This contractor will offer 1:1 or small group therapeutic sessions, support the development of mental health-aligned content, and collaborate with our somatic coaches and registered dietitians as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote and in-person therapeutic support for Whole Mama clients (individual or small group sessions)
- Collaborate with our coaching team to refer clients appropriately between coaching and therapy
- Support the creation of educational materials, mental health resources, and program content
- Offer guidance on psychological safety and trauma-informed practices within Whole Mama programs
- Maintain proper documentation and adhere to ethical and legal standards of clinical care
- Attend weekly virtual meetings, once monthly in-person team meetings; and consultations as needed (virtually).
Requirements
- Active clinical license (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, PsyD, or similar) in California
- Training in trauma-informed care and nervous system regulation
- Familiarity or interest in somatic psychology, maternal mental health, or integrative approaches
- Strong boundaries and ethical clarity around coaching vs therapy roles
- Comfortable working as an independent contractor with flexible hours
- Ability to maintain liability insurance and HIPAA-compliant systems
Preferred Experience
- Background in maternal mental health, fertility, or perinatal care
- Training in Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal Theory, mindfulness, or body-based modalities
- Experience working in collaboration with non-clinical wellness professionals
- Passion for holistic and integrative approaches to healing and transformation
Compensation
This is a paid contractor role. Hourly or session-based rates will be discussed based on licensure, location, and experience.
