We are hiring a full time Pre Certification Specialist to join us in our Carmel Indiana Location.
The Precertification Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks regarding verifying, checking eligibility of benefits, and obtaining authorization for patients, activating patient files, and for providing support to patients and medical staff. Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls. Route calls appropriately, offering voicemail or redirection of calls as needed.
- Review patient records to determine the necessity of pre-authorization for services.
- Communicate with healthcare providers to gather required documentation as needed.
- Follow up on pending requests to ensure timely approvals.
- Educate patients about their insurance benefits and pre-certification process.
- Complete obstetrical intake and schedule all new ob appointments
- Explain financial requirements to patients; collect and record copays as required.
- Obtaining precertification's from insurance for testing and procedures.
- Perform registration functions for new and existing patients.
- Schedule patient appointments per guidelines given
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all patients.
- Adhere to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies through HIPAA compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
