Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- Travel experience is not required
- Must have:
- Active Montana RN license or compact state license in hand
- AHA BLS
- NRP certification
- Must be willing to work at least every other holiday
Patient Ratios:
- 1:1 – Active labor
- 1:3 – Couplet care (as applicable)

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our healthcare team. In this critical role, you will provide comprehensive care to expectant mothers and their newborns during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. Your expertise will ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and child, while also supporting families through one of the most significant moments of their lives.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess the health status of mothers and newborns throughout labor and delivery.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding the birthing process.
- Administer medications and interventions as prescribed, including critical care transport when necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
- Perform necessary procedures such as gastric lavage or neonatal ventilator management when required.
- Assist in the management of complications during labor, including those related to internal medicine or pediatrics.
- Participate in patient education regarding post-delivery care and breastfeeding support.
Requirements
- Current nursing license with a focus on Labor and Delivery or Maternal-Newborn Nursing.
- Strong skills in medical documentation to maintain accurate patient records.
- Experience or training in critical care transport is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with esthetic laser treatment is a plus for holistic patient care approaches.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations while providing compassionate care.
- Knowledge of inpatient procedures related to maternal health is essential.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams effectively.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in areas such as pediatrics and internal medicine.
