We are seeking an experienced Public Health Nurse (PHN) to join our team in the Population Health Branch. Reporting to the Director of Disease Prevention, this position will play a key role in strengthening the province’s immunization and child health programs while supporting the effective use of Panorama as a provincial public health information system.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of immunization and early childhood health initiatives.
- Supporting the development and review of public health policies, protocols, and evidence-informed practices related to maternal, child, adolescent health and immunizations.
- Offering consultation and coordination in the management and use of Panorama for immunization, inventory, and client record functions, while working collaboratively with public health stakeholders.
- Contributing to strategic planning and public policy development to improve population health outcomes.
- Representing the Ministry of Health on intersectoral and inter-agency committees.
- Supporting population health promotion and primary health care initiatives through a public health nursing lens.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Extensive knowledge of public health nursing services, systems, and structures in Saskatchewan, with particular expertise in immunizations and child health.
- Experience working with Panorama, particularly the Immunization and Inventory modules.
- Strong understanding of public health and population health theories, as well as evidence-based approaches to health promotion and disease prevention.
- Skill in public policy analysis and development in the context of community health and health system improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across jurisdictions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with course work in Public Health Nursing.
- Eligibility for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in public health nursing, preferably with immunization and child health programs.
- Proficiency in Panorama is considered an asset.
