RESPONSIBILITIES:
The RPN will be responsible for the following:
Role Functions:
Meeting with fertility patients to implement the medication protocol designed by the Medical Director and providing further information/ assessments as required.
Act as point of contact to facilitate information between patient and physician.
Arranging for prescription medication ordering through pharmacies/ dispensing onsite and maintaining accurate inventory records according to the mandate of the College of Physician and Surgeon of Ontario.
Scheduling of OR procedures.
Rotating through assigned roles in OR and cycle monitoring positions.
Maintaining the utmost confidentiality with respect to all patients.
Keeping an accurate inventory of all medical supplies and submitting orders as needed.
Teaching/administering SC and IM injections
Day shifts only for 7.5 hours between the hours of 7 am to 4 pm weekdays.
This position requires rotating in the Oakville clinic, working weekends and stat holidays.
Providing patient teaching and support throughout IVF cycle.
Assisting the physician and performing intrauterine inseminations as instructed.
Qualifications
Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
3-5 years medical/surgical experience preferred.
BCLS
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Previous in-vitro fertilization clinical experience preferred but not essential.
Commitment to professional practice and personal development.
Computer skills are required.
Commitment to shared leadership and team based decision making.
Demonstrated excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills.
Commitment to patient centered care.
ACLS preferred.
