JOB SUMMARY
The duties of a Family Medicine Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) mid-level provider include, but are not limited to, providing accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education and follow-up care to patients ranging in age from infancy to geriatric; proper maintenance of records, under the direction of the Supervisory Physician and any other reasonable and proper duties assigned.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Examine patients and record history

Adhere to proper charting protocols
-
Discuss with Physician and other health care professionals to prepare comprehensive plan
-
Order or execute tests or images as needed
-
Submit health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review by Physician
-
Analyze results of tests, diagnose and report to patient
-
Administer or prescribe treatment and medications
-
Promote health by advising patient on diet, hygiene and prevention of disease
-
Inoculate and vaccinate as required
-
Refer to specialist as required for patient's well-being
-
Perform minor surgery
-
Report deaths and contagious diseases to governmental authorities
-
Report incidences to the Department of Risk and Compliance
-
Completion and reporting of incidents on the intranet
-
Report incidents of violence and aggression to Departments of Risk and Compliance and Human Resources

Report incidents of suspected child/elderly abuse and human trafficking to the proper agencies and the Department of Risk and Compliance.

Participate and serve on a minimum of one clinical quality committee
-
Represent True Health in the community and at community events.

Provide coverage for on-call, as assigned

Participate in Peer Review Process as indicated

Precept and train students (MD, DO, APRN, PA, residents, fellows, etc) as assigned

Precept and train provider peers, as assigned
-
Respond and participate in True Health Emergencies (i.e. Nurse Stats)

Other responsibilities as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must have and maintain current State of Florida license in good standing

Current National Board Certification

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experience using an electronic medical records system

Bilingual a plus, but not required (English/Spanish)
