Job Summary
We are seeking a Per Diem Midwife to support our OB/GYN practices for as needed in-patient, coverage at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
The shifts are 12-hours, and we are looking for flexible availability for on-call shifts that are either 7:00am-7:00pm or 7:00pm to 7:00am. The Midwife will also support patient visits at our offices located at 22 Atwood Dr. in Northampton and 170 University Dr. in Amherst from 8:00am- 5:30pm, as needed.
Responsibilities
Applicants must be familiar and/or experienced with the centering model of care and possess the desire to work as part of a collaborative, progressive team. Under the general direction of the CDMG Practice Manager, and Practice Physician(s), the Midwife is responsible for:
- Assessing the health status of patients by obtaining health and medical histories, performing physical examinations, and diagnosing health and developmental problems.
- Managing the care of women (including women of diverse backgrounds and LGBTQ+ patients) during labor, delivery and the initial post-partum period.
We are constantly aiming to meet the evolving health care needs of the communities we serve. This Per Diem role will allow our obstetrics patients improved continuity of care and increased access.

Master's Degree Nursing required

Midwife, Certified Nurse [State License] - Generic - HR Only required
Experience
Minimum of two years of experience as a Nurse Midwife is required to be a Midwife II 2-3 years required
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems.
- Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Ability to teach others.
- Excellent problem-solving, case management, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
