Job Summary:
Samaritan Health Services is seeking a skilled and dedicated Lead Medical Sonographer to join our imaging team. The ideal candidate will bring clinical expertise in medical sonography, including vascular and obstetric procedures, and demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. This role requires the ability to work independently, manage multiple responsibilities, and contribute to a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic medical sonographic examinations using accepted sonographic techniques and protocols.
- Provide vascular and obstetric sonography services, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.
- Ensure compliance with departmental policies, safety standards, and quality assurance procedures.
- Maintain equipment proficiency, including understanding manufacturer's hardware and software.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required by the department.
- Train and mentor team members, ensuring department-specific competencies are met.
- Use personal computers for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes.
- Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and other medical professionals to ensure accurate diagnostic results.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and Samaritan standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology or Medical Sonography.
- Minimum of one (1) year of radiologic/imaging experience.
- Specific experience and training in Medical Sonography required.
- Vascular and obstetric sonography experience required.
- Current registration with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registry eligible.
- Current BCLS certification (Basic Cardiac Life Support).
- Proficiency with major sonography equipment and imaging software.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects under deadline pressure.
- Professional maturity and integrity with a commitment to excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical setting.
- Advanced certifications in specialty sonography areas.
