This advanced training position offers the opportunity to grow as a Senior O&G Registrar in a supportive and dynamic department. You will be involved in both generalist obstetrics and gynaecology training, including supervised scanning and advanced gynaecological operations. About The Role
As an O&G Registrar – Advanced Trainee, you will spend six months in Generalist Gynaecology Advanced Training (ATM) and six months in Generalist Obstetric ATM. During your time at Tauranga Hospital, you will have the chance to attend colposcopy clinics and become C-Quip accredited. The on-call roster involves a 1:7 rotation of long days, weekends, and nights, offering ample opportunities for independent practice with consultant oversight. Active involvement in education and audit will be an integral part of the role. This is an excellent position for advanced trainees looking to pursue a career in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
About The Team/Service
Tauranga Hospital’s Obstetrics and Gynaecology department consists of 11 O&G SMOs, eight registrars, and eight SHOs. The department handles approximately 2,500 births annually and provides access to a private scanning facility and advanced gynaecological operations. The team is committed to providing a supportive and educational environment for its trainees.
About You
As an Advanced Trainee O&G Registrar, you will have completed or be on track to complete your core training by January 2025. You will have a strong interest in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology and possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You are committed to advancing your skills and knowledge in the field and are eager to contribute to the education and development of junior staff. A passion for both obstetrics and gynaecology, combined with a commitment to professional growth, will ensure your success in this role.
