Job Summary:
The Reproductive Health Services Coordinator position provides a range of clinical & educational reproductive health services under the Title X grant. All service provision is conducted with the goal of improving the quality of and access to reproductive health services. This position s erves as primary MA for the STD Clinic. This includes rooming patients, collecting appropriate specimens, processing specimens, providing results, and the treatment of STIs that fall under the corresponding standing order.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site STI and HIV testing and treatment and coordinate all testing event efforts for GLO-Harrisburg. GLO is a recreational safe space for LGBTQ+ men of color and trans women of color ages 14-34 to access resources specifically designed for them. Approximately 40% of this role is dedicated to GLO.
- Manage the on-site reproductive health kiosk by monitoring kiosk usage, assisting the community with orienting to the kiosk, and follow up care where indicated.
- Assist with identifying eligible patients under the Teen Pregnancy Prevention program.
- Provide pregnancy options counseling in accordance with Title X regulations.
- Distribute risk reduction tools and provide age-appropriate, accurate, and non-judgmental information about all contraceptive methods.
- Provide audience-appropriate, accurate, and non-judgmental information about Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), prevention, and treatment.
- Conduct rapid HIV testing and other STI testing services in a variety of settings.
- Participate in program quality improvement activities.
- Participate in program-related health fairs, community events, and outreach activities.
- Maintain compliance with documentation and reporting requirements as dictated by program funding organizations and other regulatory bodies.
- Complete and maintain continuing education credits as required by program regulations.
Minimum Education/Certifications:
- Medical Assistant or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certificate required.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout service area
Minimum Work Experience:
- Intermediate knowledge of reproductive health care terminology and concepts, and one (1) year working experience in a reproductive health or related health setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate clearly and intentionally in front of an audience.
- Proficiency in basic data entry computer skills and the ability to learn new software or databases specific to role.
- Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Awareness of one’s own world view and understanding that different world views exist, and cultural knowledge of key populations that will be served to address disparities in services and care.
- Two (2) or more years working experience in reproductive health.
- Experience working with marginalized populations specifically those who are trans, non-binary, or gender non-conforming.
- Knowledge of sexually transmitted infections and comfortability educating groups about infectious diseases and related reproductive health topics.
- Knowledge of community resources in Harrisburg City and surrounding areas.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish, Nepali, French
