The shift pattern for this position is rotational day/night.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a band 5 staff nurse within the clinical decisions unit (CDU) in the royal hospital for children. CDU is a 19 bedded receiving unit for children up to age 16. The unit receives directly from the emergency department, accepts GP referrals and clinic patients of all specialities. And acuities. The unit is open 7 days a week 24 hours a day. The successful candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team and demonstrate evidence of ongoing professional development. You would be expected to deliver high quality, evidenced based, patient and family centered care to patients of varying levels of dependency. You will have the ability to prioritise your work load in a fast paced environment and possess sound clinical skills for the assessment of patient needs. Intravenous medication certificate desirable but not essential. . Experience of working within an acute setting with the ability to lead and motivate a team is necessary. The department is fast paced with ranging acuity and a focus of delivering the highest standard of care to a diverse group of patients and their families.
