Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Doula to support individuals and families during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum periods. The ideal candidate will provide emotional, physical, and informational support to clients, ensuring a positive birthing experience. This role requires a deep understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as exceptional patient service skills.
Duties
- Provide continuous emotional support to clients throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
- Assist clients in developing a birth plan that aligns with their preferences and needs.
- Educate clients on the stages of labor and what to expect during the birthing process.
- Offer physical comfort measures such as breathing techniques (inhale), positioning, and massage.
- Support clients in making informed decisions regarding their care by providing evidence-based information.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure the best possible care for clients.
- Conduct patient assessments to monitor progress and identify any concerns during labor.
- Maintain a calm and supportive environment for clients and their families.
Requirements
- Strong patient service skills with a focus on empathy and understanding.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to childbirth and maternal health.
- Understanding of physiology related to pregnancy, labor, and postpartum recovery.
- Ability to perform patient assessments effectively.
- Familiarity with anatomy knowledge related to childbirth processes.
- Certification or training as a Doula is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and healthcare professionals.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
