RN Staff Nurse
- Multiple locations: Beverly, Danvers, Gloucester, Haverill MA
Job Classification:Non-Exempt 5
Reports To: Clinical Director
Job Summary:Position requires professional RN to be accountable for or participates in the planning, coordinating, and administering direct nursing care of OB/GYN patients utilizing the components of the Nursing Process.
Job Responsibility:
§ Collaborates with physicians and/or advanced practitioners to determine the needs of the patient.
§ Uses effective communication skills and interpersonal skills in obtaining information from patient and in receiving and handling patient- related phone calls and messages
§ Maintains patient confidentiality at all times, without exception.
§ Renders direct patient care and instruct patients and their family members in care as instructed by the physician
§ Assists with health education on the patient’s level of understanding.
Assists with in office procedures
Performs and interprets NST
§ Makes lab and x-ray appointments and explains the preparation to the patient.
§ May be responsible for notifying patients of lab results.
§ Assist in keeping electronic medical records in accordance with office procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of company office policy and procedures.
§ Uses correct procedures and techniques in providing patient care to obstetric and gynecological patients of all ages and backgrounds.
§ Uses appropriate reference material such as Policy Manual, Procedures Manual, PDR, etc.
§ Demonstrates knowledge of the use of equipment needed for rendering direct patient care.
§ Demonstrates knowledge of infection control standards.
§ Follows established precautions and procedures in the performance of all job duties to ensure a safe work environment for self and others.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
§ To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
§ The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
o OB/GYN Telephone Triage experience; excellent patient service skills in person and on the telephone; typing and computer skills; excellent verbal communication, crisis intervention, critical thinking, teaching, clinical, and assessment skills

Minimum Qualifications:
§ Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing AND current MA nursing license
§ Previous demonstrated nursing experience in OB/GYN
EPIC experience a plus
Work Conditions:
§ Ability to assist with the transportation, transfer, and ambulation of patients.
§ Lifting without assistance up to 25 lbs
§ Ability to respond to patient emergencies.
§ Able to stand without interruption for extended periods of time
§ Reaching (extending arms and/or trunk of body above or in front of body)
for patient care or retrieval of supplies.
§ Capable of working under stress related to multiple patients and/or providers care demands occurring.
