About the position
As Physician Assistant, you will practice medicine under supervision of the CEO & Medical Director, working directly with her and seeing new patients independently, building rapport and assessing their demands; conducting physical examinations; ordering and interpreting tests; checking lab results; adding notes to patients’ records; booking follow-up appointments; collating protocols for IUI/ CM and IVF; writing prescriptions and briefing the Medical Director on progress; and ensuring that all documentation in your care is accessible, accurate and filed correctly. Crucially, the incumbent shares the Founder, Dr. Marjorie Dixon’s commitment to being the gold standard for successful reproductive health and fertility centres.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Medical
· Works under supervision of Anova’s CEO & Medical director, in compliance with medical directives
· Provides high-quality medical support and assistance to optimize caseload management
· Greets patients, establishes rapport, and facilitates optimal patient flow as patient-centred care is a priority.
· Conducts new patient intakes and follow-up appointments to review investigations
· Obtains patients’ medical history, conducts physical exams, and performs in-office procedures
· Administers medication and writes prescriptions as needed
· Orders and interprets diagnostic tests and lab results
· Documents all assessments and interactions in EMR system
· Collates protocols for IUI/CM and IVF cycles in collaboration with clinic staff
· Participates in cycle monitoring rotation
· Books follow-ups and addresses patient inquiries
· Facilitates patient enrollment in clinical research studies, when applicable
· Communicates patient updates to Medical Director and other physicians
· Attends and chairs regulatory compliance meetings (e.g., CPSO, OHPIP, IHF)
· Complies with all relevant medical regulations, safety protocols, and Anova SOPs
Operational and Strategic Projects (under COO/CFO)
· Identifies and proposes operational improvements to clinic workflows
· Leads or supports implementation of new clinical programs (e.g., Hysteroscopy, MonaLisa Touch, Cliovana)
· Assists in set-up and launch of new satellite clinic locations
· Collaborates across departments and with external vendors to support projects
· Supports best-practice implementation across new and existing service areas
Qualifications and Requirements
· BSc or MA in Physician Assistant Studies, Health Science, or Medical Science
· Certification from Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA)/Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada (PACCC)
· Member in good standing of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
· At least one (1) year of experience in medical or fertility-focused clinical setting
· Strong knowledge of fertility treatments and reproductive health guidelines
· Fully comfortable with MS Office and virtual meeting technology
· Current knowledge of healthcare compliance and patient confidentiality standards
· Effective communication skills, verbal and written (English)
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Strong documentation and administrative skills
· Ability and willingness to travel to satellite clinics, as required
· Ability to handle multiple priorities and refocus after interruptions
· Availability to work outside of regular business hours and participate in weekend and statutory holiday rotations
