About the role
Provide leadership and oversight of communicable disease control programs and activities across the Metro North Hospital and Health Service area, and to lead activities directed at prevention and control of syphilis in southern Queensland. To share duties with other Public Health Physicians as required to ensure effective disease control responses, effective public health medical input into other public health issues, and workload management across the service.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Provide leadership within the Communicable Disease Control team, in particular within the Sexual Public Health team that includes the Queensland Syphilis Surveillance Serrvice (QSSS), and focusing on the co-ordination of responses to diseases and to outbreaks within the area of jurisdiction, by undertaking or supervising the investigation, management and responses to diseases and disease outbreaks.
Develop and regularly update local communicable disease management guidelines and related documents, as well as assisting in the development of state wide and/or national guidelines.
Actively foster scientific enquiry and research through collaboration within the department and with other services.
