Position Summary
We are seeking a Staff Sonographer to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals. This role is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures and supporting other imaging modalities as required. Exams are performed independently under physician supervision and with appropriate peer collaboration. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Staff Sonographer helps mentor and educate staff across various levels within the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including OB/GYN scans, in accordance with established protocols and physician instructions
- Collaborate with physicians and fellow technologists to ensure accurate and efficient patient care
- Maintain high standards of patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality during procedures
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new or less experienced staff members
- Ensure proper documentation and maintain accurate patient records
- Stay current with continuing education and best practices in sonography
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of independent scanning experience outside of clinical training, including OB/GYN exams
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- ARDMS certification in OB/GYN (OB/GYN certified)
- Strong ability to critically think while scanning and make informed clinical decisions
- Effective communication skills and a patient-centered mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM)
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team player
- Additional ARDMS certifications a plus
