The Role
We’re seeking an Associate Scientific Director to play a pivotal leadership and development role within Fertility Associates. Working closely with the Scientific Director, this position supports the strategic direction of the organisation, mentors embryology teams to enhance science outcomes, and fosters collaboration both internally and with external ART professionals. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as the role involves working closely with leadership teams and supporting the professional growth of embryologists. This is a key position in driving scientific excellence and contributing to initiatives that improve clinical outcomes and pregnancy rates across the group.
Key responsibilities
· Scientific leadership: collaborate with theScientific Director to implement strategy, drive innovation, and integrate global ART trends into Fertility Associates’ practices.
· Capability development: support embryology staff and research initiatives, promote knowledge sharing, and drive professional growth across clinics.
· Laboratory leadership: provide expert guidance to ensure high-quality, consistent scientific practice across teams and and operational alignment.
· Quality improvement: oversee lab quality control, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards.
· External engagement: build partnerships with universities and ART professionals; represent FA at scientific conferences and contribute to research publications.
· Teamwork & communication: foster a culture of collaboration, clear communication, and positive engagement with both internal and external stakeholders.
Ideal candidate, skills and experience
· Advanced Scientific expertise: Holds a PhD, Masters, or equivalent in embryology or a related ART field, with at least 4 years of IVF experience
· Leadership & mentoring: demonstrated experience leading scientific teams and projects, with an ability to inspire others.
· Critical thinker: proven ability to link scientific performance with business outcomes, and to contribute to strategic planning and innovation initiatives.
· Strong communicator: able to convey information clearly and effectively and build relationships across diverse teams.
· Commitment to excellence: committed to fostering excellence, promoting best practices, and driving ongoing development and quality improvement.
· Strong interpersonal skills: builds respectful, productive relationships across disciplines; resilient, solutions-focused, and culturally aware.
