Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled
Consultant Urologist to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of urological conditions. As a Consultant Urologist, you will provide exceptional patient care, lead surgical interventions, and contribute to the ongoing development of clinical services in the urology department.
Key Responsibilities - Clinical Care:
- Diagnose and treat patients with urological conditions such as prostate cancer, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, erectile dysfunction, incontinence, and other related disorders.
- Provide comprehensive preoperative, postoperative, and follow-up care to patients undergoing urological treatments and surgeries.
- Offer expert clinical opinions, including the interpretation of diagnostic tests, imaging, and other urological investigations.
- Monitor and manage patients with chronic urological conditions, ensuring long-term care and health optimization.
- Surgical Procedures:
- Perform complex urological surgeries, including but not limited to prostatectomy, cystectomy, kidney removal, and minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures.
- Utilize robotic surgery and other advanced technologies to perform procedures where applicable.
- Manage the preparation and recovery of patients undergoing urological surgeries.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing staff, oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists, to provide coordinated patient care.
- Lead and supervise junior doctors, residents, and medical students, providing teaching and training in urology practices and procedures.
Required Qualifications - Medical Degree: MCH Urologist
- Specialist Training: Completion of specialist training in urology, with a recognized certification (e.g., FRCS, American Board of Urology, or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience as a practicing urologist, with a strong background in managing complex urological conditions and performing surgeries.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in both traditional and minimally invasive (robotic) urological surgeries.
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to make decisions in complex and challenging medical situations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and provide patient-centered care.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, particularly for junior medical staff.
- Licensing: Valid medical license to practice as a Consultant Urologist in [Location] (or eligibility for licensing).
