Translational research on gynecological cancers
Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will play a key role in the design, implementation, analysis, and dissemination of projects and their results aimed at improving precision oncology in the field of gynecological cancers. They will actively contribute to projects involving wet lab (preclinical studies/models, cell culture, animal studies) and dry lab (cancer genomics and pathology) studies. Through these contributions, the Postdoctoral Fellow will gain experience in conducting biomedical studies as well as participatory research with collaborators.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work directly with the lab head(s) to design, develop and execute bench experiments
Lead individual and collaborative projects
Analyze and synthesize experimental results autonomously (tables, figures, etc.) to derive scientific conclusions
Mentor trainees in the team
Qualifications:
Experience
Essential wet lab skills such as cell culture, DNA/RNA/protein isolation, Western blotting, immunostaining, etc.
Extensive experience with in vitro assays is required, additional familiarity with animal models is an advantage
Familiarity with next generation sequencing approaches
Familiarity with genome editing techniques
Experience analyzing basic biostatistical data using basic software (e.g., GraphPrism, SnapGene)
Mastery of writing scientific reports/articles/presentations
Able to communicate scientifically in English (spoken and written)
Profile and Skills

Position:
Full-time position, 35 hours per week
Contract: 1 year (renewable)
In-person work (not remote)
Salary and benefits according to McGill University/LDI policies
Schedule: Daytime, Monday to Friday (9:00am to 5:00pm, to be discussed and confirmed)
Probation period: 90 working days

Stagiaire postdoctoral
Recherche translationnelle sur les cancers gynécologiques
Description du poste :
Le stagiaire postdoctoral jouera un rôle clé dans la conception, la mise en œuvre et l’analyse des projets visant à améliorer l’oncologie de précision dans le domaine des cancers gynécologiques. Il/Elle contribuera activement à des projets impliquant différentes techniques de laboratoire.
Tâches et responsabilités :
Travailler directement avec le chercheur principal pour concevoir, développer et exécuter des expériences.
Diriger de façon autonome des projets.
Analyser les résultats expérimentaux de manière autonome (tableaux, figures...).
Encadrer les étudiants et les stagiaires au sein de l’équipe.
Qualifications :
Expérience
Expérience en culture cellulaire, extraction ADN/ARN/protéines, immunofluorescence…
Expérience approfondie avec des essais in vitro.
Familiarité avec des modèles animaux est un avantage.
Familiarité avec les approches de séquençage de nouvelle génération.
Expérience dans l’analyse de données biostatistiques (e.g., GraphPrism, SnapGene).
Maitrise de la rédaction de rapports/article/présentations scientifiques.
Capable de communiquer scientifiquement en anglais (à l’oral et a l’écrit).

Position :
Poste à temps plein, 35 heures par semaine
