Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasonographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic sonography procedures to assist in the assessment and diagnosis of patients. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, as well as the ability to provide excellent patient care and communicate effectively with both patients and medical staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations on patients, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure accurate documentation of findings.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, alleviate concerns, and provide comfort during examinations.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and assist in developing patient care plans.
- Maintain equipment in good working order, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
- Stay current with advancements in sonography techniques and best practices through continuous education and training.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sonography or diagnostic radiology is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques.
- Experience in Ob/Gyn ultrasound procedures is a plus.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Certification from an accredited ultrasound program is required; ARDMS certification is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
