The Role You’ll Contribute
At AdventHealth our primary customers are patients and their families. Our partners are physicians and our team members are all employees of AdventHealth.
The RN is a registered professional nurse who is acting as a liaison for AdventHealth Obstetrical Services, supports the team process and acts as an advocate for patients, families and visitors. The Birth Designer is an Obstetrical Registered Nurse who provides indirect and direct services to patients in the obstetrical setting. Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies, and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
The Value You’ll Bring To The Team
- Tours patients, families, and/or significant others pre-delivery. Provides information on the service and amenities of the Florida Hospital Obstetrical Unit.
- Assists patient and family members in Birth Plan development and personal preference sheet.

- Maintains working knowledge of AdventHealth programs offered to pregnant patients and their families. Offering our resources, educating moms about programs, assisting with appointments and scheduling for programs such as: Lactation, Prenatal Education, Pediatricians, Anesthesia, Baby safety, etc.
- Acts as a liaison between the hospital and patients, physician office staff, patient's families and/or significant others by rounding daily to determine the customer's need and satisfaction with services provided. Assists in obtaining needed services. Reports patient, family, and/or significant other concerns to team members, birth advocate, supervisor, and/or Nurse Manager as indicated for resolution. Actively works on issues that can be resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
