The Position
Health Program Managers provide administrative direction for programs related to maternal, child and family health, nutrition, disease control, or other health programs.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health; Bureau of Child, Family, and Community Wellness is recruiting for a Health Program Manager 1 in Carson City. This supervisory position is responsible for the management of the Title V Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Program. Responsibilities include extensive grant writing and reporting; grant fiscal management, oversight and reporting to include budgeting, account reconciliation, tracking grant spend downs, subaward management, monitoring expenditures; coordination of technical assistance with key partners; serve as the prime administrative support staff for the Maternal and Child Health Advisory Board; implementation of evidence-based practices in the maternal, infant, children- including children and youth with special health care needs and adolescent populations. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, human services, social science, behavioral science or related field and three years of health-related professional experience, one year of which was supervisory and included providing or coordinating the delivery of health care services, budget monitoring, and interpretation of regulations, policies and directives related to health care delivery systems; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
