Position Title: Medical Device Reprocessing Technician
Job Status: Part Time – 0.5 - Indefinite Term
Reports to: Administrative Billing Manager and Clinic Business Operations Manager

Your Role:
Heartland Fertility and Gynecology Clinic is seeking a part-time, skilled, experienced individual to join our team as a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Administrative Billing Manager and is responsible for the cleaning, disassembly, reassembly and sterilization of clinic supplies, equipment, ultrasound probes and reusable medical devices. Principals of aseptic technique shall be used and routine infection control practices shall be followed.
The MDR technician will ensure that reusable medical devices are in proper working order, perform biological indicator, chemical indicator and other quality assurance testing and reports any problems to their supervisor. In addition, the MDR Technician will perform related clinical duties and record keeping.
MDR Technicians are on their feet, walking or standing for much of their shift. They may be required to bend, reach, lift and move equipment and supplies. MDR Technicians will be exposed to strong chemicals and bio-hazardous materials while doing their jobs. The work area may be noisy and busy and at times can be challenging or stressful.
Job Responsibilities:
· Perform all MDR duties in an ethical and legal manner that ensures patient safety.
· Understand and apply infection prevention and control measures in all areas of clinical practice.
· Safely and correctly operate a variety of onsite MDR equipment.
· Collect, disassemble, clean, disinfect, assemble, function test, package, sterilize, store, and distribute reusable medical devices, equipment and supplies in procedure rooms, hysteroscopy suite and clinic.
· Routine maintenance and quality control of MDR equipment.
· Maintenance of appropriate MDR logs and records.
· Turn over, clean and sanitize exam, procedure, and recovery rooms.
· Responsible for re-stocking all medical supplies in exam, procedure, hysteroscopy, and recovery rooms.
· Inventory, monitor and restock MDR supplies.
· Report and/or remove any malfunctioning equipment or damager instruments.
· Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Position Requirements:
· Completed Grade XII required.
· Successful completion of a recognized sterile processing technician certificate or Medical Device Reprocessing Course (MDRT)
· Recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience (e.g. MDR Theory, CMDRT or IACHSMM certification) would be an asset.
· Recent experience working in an acute medical device reprocessing environment is an asset.
· Current BCLS
· Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
· Must be able to work effectively and productively both independently and as part of the Heartland team.
· Ability to respect and promote confidentiality.
· Ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Ability to multi-task as needed.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
