We are currently recruiting a Sonographer for our location in Bryn Mawr, PA
Hours: Mon-Fri 8-4:30pm will float 1 day per week to King of Prussia, PA or Plymouth Meeting, PA. Qualified candidates should have at least 2 years of experience.
Essential Functions:
- Reviews any prior ultrasound images and imaging reports prior to ultrasound exam.
- Reviews and verifies physician’s orders for ultrasound imaging.
- Prepares patients for diagnostic ultrasound procedures, explains procedures, measures and positions patients for each anatomical view.
- Performs high-quality ultrasound examinations in accordance with approved techniques and protocols, ensuring the transducer (probe) is correctly capturing images.
- Evaluates captured ultrasound images for quality and interprets images.
- Presents ultrasound images and preliminary findings to physicians and healthcare team.
- Maintains patient records; adds medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure.
- Maintains ultrasound equipment and sterilizes room between ultrasound patients.
- Utilizes PACs, EMR, and other systems related to imaging.
- Stocks and replenishes sonography supplies as required.
- Maintains Sonography certifications by completing any assigned compliance and continuing education requirements.
- Trains other Sonographers as needed.
Qualities & Skills:
- Complete all assigned compliance and education requirements
- Training of other technologists as needed
Experience and Education
- Formal education and completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program required.
- Current RDMS certification from ARDMS in OB/GYN required.
- At least 2 years’ recent experience performing obstetrical scanning required.
- Additional certification in Breast (BR) and Abdomen (AB) desirable.
- Additional ARDMS certification and experience in Fetal Echocardiography (FT) desirable.
- CPR certification a plus.
- eClinicalWorks (EMR) experience beneficial.
- Knowledge of specific order sets and related CPT coding a plus.
