Position: Registered Nurse
Salary Range: $58/hr (T4) or $68/hr (Incorporated)
We are on the hunt for REGISTERED NURSES interested in contract work assignments in ONTARIO. Our clients have multiple sites across the province, including long term care homes and hospitals. We are in need of RNs with specialty training in ER, ICU, med/surg, long term care, NICU, Obstetrics. If applicable, travel expenses and accommodation provided.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following responsibilities will vary, depending on the area in which the nurse is working.

Provide holistic care to acutely ill patients with a variety of medical conditions.
-
Provide hemodynamic monitoring for patients in acute care areas such as ICU and ER.
-
Recognize and provide timely intervention for clients with deteriorating signs and symptoms.
-
Assist with procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, arterial line insertion.
-
Document findings and assessments in the client's Electronic medical record per organizational standards.
-
Assist other members of the team in the care of clients as necessary.
-
Complete routine tasks as appropriate, such as vital sign monitoring, IV insertion, blood draws, EKGs, cardiac rhythm interpretation, NG insertion, foley catheter insertion, and SC/IM injections.

Complete head-to-toe assessments and report any abnormalities to the physician.

Provide treatments for wounds.

Administer medications in accordance to provincial standards and organizational policy. Skilled with medication administration all routes, IV, PO, IM, SC.

Participate in multi-disciplinary rounds as requested and provide up to date information on all clients assigned to your care.

Use electronic charting.
-
Engage in therapeutic communication with clients, taking time to answer questions and provide comfort.

Represent the values of the client organization at all times.

Other duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
1-3 years experience in the Canadian healthcare system
-
Valid Registered Nursing license to practice with no restrictions administered by the College of Nurses of Ontario (or ability to obtain).

Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sectors completed within the last 6 months.

CPR (level C) or BLS taken within the last year.

ACLS (ER/ICU nurses only)
-
PALS, TNCC, CTAS (ER nurses only)
-
NRP (obstetrics and NICU nurses only)
-
Fetal Health Surveillance (obstetrics nurses only)
-
Exceptional organization and time management skills
-
Positive attitude and adaptability.
-
Ability to clearly articulate changes in client condition to the physician in a timely fashion.

Ability to use proper body mechanics to assist in turning and transferring clients.
-
Excellent hand hygiene practice and ability to follow facilities’ infection prevention and control protocols.

Willingness to work all shifts to meet the demands of the acute care of long-term care facility

ASSETS: certification in P.I.E.C.E.S or GPA, experience with RAI-MDS, SWAN, V.A.C. therapy, NVCI (non-violent crisis intervention training) and experience with electronic charting
