Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute government affairs strategy and action plan aimed to support business priorities in Organon China:
- Build up and maintain good relationship with central government authorities (e.g. MOFCOM, NMPA, MIIT, etc.), and to develop creative strategy by leveraging the government resources and strive for most beneficial policy for the business; - Provide analysis of the central government policy and operating environment and clearly share with the team and ensure cross-functions (including sales & marketing) seamless understanding and alignment on strategy, issues, and topics;
- Anticipate government affairs & policy trends and competitive dynamics that represent opportunities or threats to the business; and help build a clear plan of action to leverage the opportunities or mitigate threats to Organon’s business;
- Propose company positions on key issues affecting business and industry cross China – in alignment with relevant key stakeholders – and develop position papers/statements to advocate with policy makers and other key external audiences;
- Develop scenarios and risk mitigation plans, which reflect a thorough understanding of the policy, government decision-making processes, decision-makers, and influencers, and provide recommendations and solutions to the business;
- Remain current and alert on relevant industry changes, networking with relevant external stakeholders, etc. to learn and monitor new business opportunities that can be unlocked for business.
Requirements
- A high-calibre professional with comprehensive working experience in the policy field and track record of success delivering on shaping the central policy to address business objectives
- In-depth understanding & interpretation with policy, and general knowledge of the country’s landscape complexity & pharmaceutical business is must
- An entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to understand consumer needs and business transformations to create new business opportunities to unlock business in China, but with a compliance-first mindset
- Strong ability to work under pressure, to work along agreed upon timelines and to achieve respective milestones
- Fluent in written/spoken Mandarin and English required, matched with excellent communication and negotiation skills
