Director Portfolio Communications - Women’s Health
This position can be based in Oss or Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Heist-op-den-Berg (Belgium), Paris (France), Vienna (Austria), Lisbon (Portugal), Madrid (Spain), Cramlington or London (United Kingdom), Dublin (Ireland) , Istanbul (Turkey), New Cairo (Egypt), Amman (Jordan), Beirut (Lebanon), Johannesburg (South Africa), Doha (Qatar), Kuwait (Kuwait), Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) or Algiers (Algeria).
The Position
Reporting to the Head of Communications/ Chief Communications Officer, you will be responsible for leading the strategy and execution of external/ integrated communications programs that advance Organon’s Women’s Health portfolio. You must be a strategic thinker and thought partner, who can lead the development and execution of global communications plans while managing a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across mid-to-high levels of management.
You will closely collaborate with functions across the organization, including Enterprise & Market Communications, Research & Development, Manufacturing & Supply and Marketing colleagues to identify and maximize opportunities to tell Organon’s innovation and growth story.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategic, high-impact communications programs to advance business objectives with emphasis on competitive differentiation (e.g. health of women), analytics, and the external environment.
- Consistently share best practices and offer new ideas and thinking to raise the bar for the therapeutics and health of women positioning.
- Liaise with International Communications business partner and tier 1 and 2 markets to gather local business needs, and secure timely buy-in and input from functional and franchise leaders on thought leadership & stakeholder engagement programs, including securing budget to effectively execute programs.
- Oversee and implement tactical program elements, ensuring deliverables are met on time and on budget across paid, earned, shared, and owned channels
- Serve as communications counselor to franchise leadership, ensuring programs are creatively developed and executed with the external environment in mind.
- Lead data communications at medical congresses to differentiate Organon’s portfolio and to elevate the pipeline among key external stakeholders.
- Represent Communications on global franchise and R&D teams and proactively contribute on business decisions with cross-functional business partners.
- Manage issues that affect the business overall by proactively anticipating and mitigating reputational risk.
- Drive agency partner performance and ensure effective use of Organon resources.
- Serve as an ambassador and spokesperson, shaping the conversation among external stakeholders.
- Ensure programs fall within budget parameters and all administrative paperwork is completed in an appropriate manner (invoice logging, purchase orders, statements of work, etc.) and ensure compliance by managing review process for external communications materials (press releases, statements, response documents, fact sheets, etc.).
- Keep appropriate internal and external partners apprised of status, timelines, and directional shifts to ensure smooth review process and to meet corporate deadlines.
Required Education, Experience And Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in health care policy.
- At least 10 years of experience in regional/ global PR, including digital and social media in a regulated environment.
- Leadership: Significant experience leading media, social media, and global communications for large corporations.
- Technical Skills: Experience with video production (storyboarding, filming, editing) and web/social media content development.
- Strategic Planning: Ability to prepare strategic communications plans and provide strategic advice to cross-divisional team members, as well as deliver at the tactical level.
- Execution: Ability to execute within a dynamic, fast-paced organization.
- Long-Term Strategy: Ability to articulate and lead a long-term strategic communications platform that builds and supports businesses.
- Crisis Management: Ability to handle crisis communications and short-term communications objectives.
- Problem-Solving and Management: Flexible, clear thinking and problem-solving skills; successfully lead multiple projects/ initiatives within the communications/ PR function; able to quickly grasp new ideas; simplify strategy into specific actions with clear accountability; make decisions with speed and accuracy based on the best available information; communicate priorities clearly and concisely.
- Communication Skills: Clear communication of complex information, delivering key messages effectively both verbally and in writing, with excellent application of the English language.
