Biorepository Operations Manager

ROLE
This role is responsible for leading the team and managing the TMRW Biorepository operations, ensuring safe, 24/7 monitored storage of cryopreserved fertility specimens by harnessing TMRW’s proprietary suite of platform technologies. This role reports to the Director, TMRW Biorepository Operations, and is located in our New York City office.
You will manage as well as perform activities and processes related to tracking, accessioning, storage, retrieval and transport of cryopreserved patient specimens.
You will manage the team to ensure the timely acquisition and delivery of cryopreserved IVF specimens to support our network of fertility clinic partners and direct patient customers.
You will hire, train and supervise BioR Associates/Embryologists to provide high quality specimen inventory management, to include safe specimen handling, chain of custody and witnessing, and process documentation.
You will be accountable for ensuring accurate specimen inventory and safe specimen integrity is maintained and documented while under TMRW’s care.
You will support the development and continuous improvement of robust Standard Operating Procedures to guarantee the highest quality laboratory and specimen management standards are followed.
You will be accountable for ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements, to include the FDA and NY State Department of Health.
You will manage the maintenance of all equipment, to include our fleet of vapor shippers, shipment monitoring devices and cryorobots.
You will develop a collaborative relationship with TMRW’s tissue bank director and cross-functional departments at TMRW Life Sciences.
You may be required to manage (including travel between sites) a second biorepository space in the local New Jersey/New York Metropolitan area.
You may be required to respond to off-hour biorepository-related emergencies.
Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need To Succeed
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
5+ years of experience managing laboratory operations.
5+ years of Embryology experience.
2+ years supervisory/management experience
Working knowledge of biorepository or tissue bank best practices and regulations.
Experience as a technical writer - developing Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
Experience and comfortable working with liquid nitrogen
Ability to lift 40 pounds without assistance
Ready to navigate complex solutions and create sustainable and scalable operational processes
You are articulate, proactive, driven to succeed, and have exceptional attention to detail

The pay range for this position is: $115k-130K. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at this time. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
