We have an opening for a NJ licensed nurse, either RN or LPN to work in our busy OB/GYN office located in East Brunswick, NJ. Schedule can be as follows, four day work week: Tuesday 7am-7pm, Wednesday 7am-4pm, Thursday 8am-8pm, and Friday 8am-4pm.
The person hired will be responsible for the coordination of patient care and an important participant in policy and procedure implementations as they relate to medical services for nursing staff, primarily via the telephone. Other job duties include but are not limited to:
- Obtains appropriate input and direction from the provider as needed to determine best clinical course of action and recommendations for specific patient health care
- Accurately documents symptoms/complaints, nursing assessment, advice provided and patient/caller response. Follows policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure consistency and departmental effectiveness as well as improve health care outcomes of patients/callers and their access to appropriate health.

Follows established triage protocols and guidelines to evaluate and assess patient healthcare needs based on signs and symptoms

Accurately documents signs/vitals, symptoms, and complaints, nursing assessment, provided advice, and patient response into the EMR.

Pulls labs/imaging results and adds to the EMR and consults with physicians on all results of testing.

Obtains appropriate input and direction from Axia provider, as needed, to determine the best clinical course of action and recommendations for specific patient care.

Educates patients and families about prescribed follow ups, medications, therapies, and teaches self-injection techniques as needed.

Follows policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure consistency and departmental effectiveness as well as to improve healthcare outcomes of patients.
- Evaluates and assesses patient’s health care needs based on patient’s signs and symptoms utilizing established triage protocols and guidelines
- Report test results to patients
- Assist with in-office procedures

Assist, as needed, with phone triage.

Assists with medication refill requests.

Performs phlebotomy.
Qualities and Skills:
- Computer skills and knowledge of EMR.
- Comfortability performing phlebotomy.
Education & Experience:
- Completion of an accredited nursing program required.
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical (LPN) license required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working as an RN in a medical facility, preferably in an OB/GYN setting, required.
- Phlebotomy experience required.
- CPR Certification.
- Ability to be flexible with schedule and to work at satellite locations, if applicable, as scheduled.
- Previous experience with eClinicalWorks (EMR) beneficial.
- Knowledge of lab order sets beneficial.
- Knowledge of CPT coding beneficial.
