Across centuries and continents, one truth remains: midwives don’t just deliver babies—they deliver hope. Our practice have a great setup for helping women birth naturally and safely in a birth center as well as in a hospital. We have developed a mentorship program to support new midwives in their transition to our facility.
The Birth Center of New Jersey is one of the few birthing facilities that have been represented in the New York Times, CBS Evening News, and even Netflix (Sex: Explained: Childbirth Episode). We have fought so hard over the years to reduce disparities for women of color in Maternal Mortality and Morbidity in the state of New Jersey. Our Medical Director, Nicola Pemberton, MD is the one of the very few obstetricians in New Jersey who conduct truly natural births and waterbirths. Our sister has one of the lowest C-Section rates in the state.
