Your role at St John of God Ballarat Hospital
We have a number of opportunities available for
Registered Midwives and
Dual Registered Midwife/Nurses to join our Maternity ward at Ballarat.
Permanent or
casual positions are available working a variety of shifts from Monday to Sunday.
You will take time with their patients and their families supporting them through every step of their journey to being a parent. Our midwives are dedicated to providing all aspects of pregnancy, birth and postnatal care in our antenatal clinics and services, on our maternity wards and in birth suites, in addition to care for our babies in our special care nurseries.
The Position
- Assesses plans, delivers and evaluates patient care, seeking support from senior staff as required.
- Promotes and contributes to effective communication, facilitating teamwork and cooperation within the ward and within the hospital.
- Provides patient education and acts as a resource where appropriate.
- Supports and supervises staff and students as required, including orientating and preceptoring staff.
- Contributes to the achievement of Hospital and Clinical Services operational objectives.
You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered/Nurse Midwife, a demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and satisfaction, along with well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
To succeed you will have an ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.

We can offer you:
- Salary $68,093 to $96,175 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation
- Casual Hourly Rate: $42.94 to $60.65 per hour (inclusive of casual loading)
