The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) joining our team at Eisenhower Center, a Specialized Residential setting focused on the rehabilitation and habilitation of individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), Mental Illness (MI), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The RN/Health Educator will provide high-quality care, support, and medical oversight to our residents, ensuring their health and well-being.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents with TBI, I/DD, MI, and ASD.
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor and assess residents' health status, identifying any changes or concerns.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the facility treatment team.
- Educate residents and facility direct care staff about health conditions, treatments, and self-care strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure holistic care.
- Participate in care team meetings and contribute to the development of care strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Provide emotional support and advocacy for residents.
- Assist with daily living activities and promote a safe and supportive environment.
- Traveling between facilities in Manchester, Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti
Qualifications
- Required: Current and valid RN license in Michigan.
- Required: Minimum of 3+ years of nursing experience, preferably in a similar setting.
- Required: Previous experience with TBI/CMH residential care.
- Advanced proficiency in documentation requirements.
- Experience working with individuals with TBI, I/DD, MI, and ASD.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of best practices in nursing care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in computer skills and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Valid Driver’s License
